A leading real estate development company in Tanzania is seeking an experienced Civil Works / Site Foreman to supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities in Zanzibar, ensuring civil and structural works are executed according to project specifications, quality standards, and timelines. The role involves overseeing construction crews, monitoring daily site operations, and ensuring that works such as earthworks, concrete, structural, and related building activities are carried out safely and efficiently. This is a fixed-term contract for two years, with an expected mobilization/start date in April 2026.

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Works / Site Foreman to supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of on-site construction crews.

  • Ensure civil and structural works are executed according to drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

  • Monitor work progress and report updates to the site engineer or project manager.

  • Enforce health and safety standards on site.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel.

  • Inspect workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained.

  • Assist with planning daily tasks and allocating labor and resources efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in construction or civil works is an advantage).

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience supervising construction crews on civil or building projects.

  • Preferably with prior construction experience in Africa.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and basic technical documents.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
