A leading real estate development company in Tanzania is seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to oversee and coordinate the final stages of construction works in Dar es Salaam, ensuring high-quality interior and exterior finishes. The role involves supervising finishing crews, maintaining strict quality control standards, and ensuring works such as painting, flooring, and other finishing trades are completed safely and on schedule. This is a fixed-term contract for two years, with an expected mobilization/start date in April 2026.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to oversee the final stages of construction works in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising finishing crews and ensuring high-quality interior and exterior finishes, including painting, flooring, and related works. The role requires strong attention to detail to ensure all finishing works meet project specifications, safety standards, and completion deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate finishing works, including painting, flooring, plastering, tiling, and other interior and exterior finishing activities.

  • Ensure all finishing works are executed according to drawings, specifications, and project quality standards.

  • Conduct high-quality inspections to verify workmanship and ensure defects are identified and corrected promptly.

  • Monitor daily progress of finishing activities and report updates to the site engineer or project manager.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site teams to ensure timely completion of finishing works.

  • Ensure works are completed within project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in construction or finishing trades is an advantage).

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supervising finishing works on building construction projects.

  • Preferably with prior construction experience in Africa.

  • Strong knowledge of finishing trades such as painting, flooring, plastering, tiling, and decorative works.

  • Ability to inspect and maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.

  • Good leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
