An established company operating in the fields of inspection, certification, quality assurance, marine services, supervision services, and consumer products services is looking for a qualified and proactive “Senior Quality, Food Safety & Compliance Officer” to join its team in Lebanon.
This role combines quality management, internal auditing, food safety inspection, client advisory, training, and business development. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that internal operations comply with applicable standards, certifications, accreditations, and safety requirements, while also supporting the growth of the company’s food safety service portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Acting as the company’s Quality Responsible, ensuring that all quality, safety, and compliance procedures are properly implemented across operations.
Monitoring employee adherence to safety measures, especially during field inspections, client visits, sampling activities, supervision assignments, and other operational tasks.
Ensuring that internal procedures, documentation, records, and operational practices are maintained in line with applicable standards, norms, and regulatory requirements.
Planning and conducting internal audits to verify compliance with quality systems, certification requirements, accreditation standards, and company procedures.
Preparing the company for external audits and ensuring readiness for the renewal and maintenance of relevant certifications, accreditations, and recognitions, in close collaboration with the Regional Quality Department at HQ.
Identifying non-conformities, following up on corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring proper closure within required deadlines.
Reviewing, updating, and controlling quality documents, procedures, audit reports, checklists, forms, and operational records.
Coordinating with management and department heads to ensure that quality standards are applied consistently across all services.
Visiting clients to conduct food safety inspections, assess compliance, identify gaps, and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
Advising clients on the implementation of HACCP, ISO 22000, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and quality management requirements.
Conducting awareness sessions and training for clients and internal teams on food safety, hygiene practices, HACCP principles, ISO 22000 requirements, and related standards.
Supporting and managing quality and quantity inspection contracts awarded to the company, including food safety assignments, commodities inspections, school feeding programs, and other relevant projects.
Ensuring that inspection reports, recommendations, and technical documentation are accurate, professional, and delivered according to company standards.
Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and supporting customer satisfaction through professional follow-up and reliable service delivery.
Identifying new business opportunities in food safety, quality consulting, inspection, training, and related services.
Developing and growing the company’s food safety client portfolio by identifying potential clients, understanding their requirements, proposing tailored service solutions, and presenting sales forecasts to management.
Collaborating with the commercial and operations teams to prepare offers, proposals, service scopes, and follow-up actions related to food safety and quality services.
Staying updated on food safety regulations, international standards, accreditation requirements, inspection practices, and industry developments.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Agriculture, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
Previous experience in quality management, food safety, internal auditing, inspection, certification, consulting, or compliance.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, and food safety management systems.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and inspection body requirements is a strong advantage.
Experience preparing for audits, managing documentation, handling non-conformities, and maintaining certification or accreditation requirements.
Ability to conduct food safety inspections and provide clear recommendations to clients.
Strong understanding of hygiene, sanitation, food handling, risk assessment, and corrective action processes.
Good commercial awareness and the ability to support business development and client portfolio growth.
Strong communication, reporting, presentation, and training skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow up on deadlines.
Professional attitude when dealing with clients, auditors, employees, and external stakeholders.
Good command of English and Arabic. French is a plus.
A valid driving license is preferred due to client visits and field assignments.
